What is Dry Needling?

Dry Needling is a safe and effective treatment technique that is commonly used by Dr Linsey Roth at The Movement Solution. Dry Needling involves inserting a thin, sterile needle into soft tissue structures such as muscles, tendons, or ligaments. The needle stimulates blood flow, cellular activity, pain modulation, and creates a nervous system response leading to faster recovery. You can think of dry needling as a way of placing a small flag on an injured area that tells your body exactly where to go heal itself. The micro- trauma caused by the thin needle helps to stimulate the body’s natural healing response to overcome pain, muscle tension, stiffness, and more.

Dry Needling is different than acupuncture, which follows acupoints and the body’s meridians. Instead, dry needling is used to treat localized tissues that are involved in your specific condition. With dry needling, the needle is inserted directly into the involved musculoskeletal tissue. It is a relatively painless procedure with very low risk, and high reward.

Dry needling is effective in providing relief from conditions such as back pain, sciatica, bursitis, tendonitis, arthritis, muscle strains, ligament sprains, tension headaches, pelvic floor tension, and more!
